Clutch Knocking Diagnostics

So I took the 182 to Dave Clarke Vehicle services. Spoke to a top guy about the knocking. He took it a spin and narrowed it down to the Stabilizer Bar holding the engine in place (madness!!) needs replacing.

Booked in for Tues!

also, it gives off all the same symptons as a knackered rear mount, but its not.

I'm actually glad that someone here knows what i was on about, Iwas shown the part but was a little sceptical to say the least.

I got a spare one here u could have put new bushes into. Never had those symptoms on all three RS's I have had though.

by clutch knock you meaned cnock from cluthc pedal at parking speed ?

when pulling away Wiking yes.

Does it do it every time you pull away or just the first time when you start the engine.

more of a vibration when accelerating.
Tis a hard one to explain, but the guy from Dave Clarke seem to know what he was talking about. We shall see on Tuesday!

well got it back from Dave Clarke Vehice Services.
£62 for parts and labour. Definitely notice a difference now, just a more solid feel etc, hard to describe the "feeling" of your own car.

Next job is back pads and dics, but they can wait a few months!
