Basically as above - want to diagnose the engine management/emmisions light that has come in since fitting new exhaust/having cat modified, but don't fancy paying the stealers to have a go on one!
Had it suggested that a sensor may have been knocked during fitting if this was heavy handed, but today I had the same problem as OP in this post

I would rather know what is wrong before I start spending on replacement sensors, but don't know enough about the code readers either - are these usable on any car or do they need an authorisation like the RS Tuner??
