when needing to be replaced, does this cause the car to go louder?

when the car starts up.. it shakes and goes to 5k revs and drops to 0 and back to 5k

not a coil pack i wouldnt have thought. Mine went and it cut from 4 to 3 cylinders quite regularly and has a stupid loss in power...not that i had alot to start with...

A coil pack will make your car run s**t...pluh pluh pluh.
My car is a TT and it done the same as yours so I got the throttle body reset...maybe yours is dirty.

Sounds more to do with the throttle body/inlet manifold?
