Coilovers fitment issues

Recently bought a set of coilovers for my clio but when going to fit them today the front struts did not line up...

Where the two bolts at the bottom of the coilovers join your hub etc did not line up..

What I need to know is why they don't fit, bought 2nd hand and was off a 2004 182.. Mine is also a 04 182 so are these for certain suspension setups or is my car the unique one needing different suspension??

is there a way of getting these to fit?

Any help welcome.. Or will just need to sell these coilovers..

There are a couple of coilover options in 182 cup fitment I think like AST, H&R and Gaz.
Personally I am replacing all suspension components with brand new genuine items with Cooksport springs.

What reason do you want to uprate the suspension for?

I can't comment on what they would be like on track to be honest. I know Chip has ran his clio with them on track and I'm sure others have too so they may be able to advise you better.
I think they would be your best option without spending a fair wedge of cash imo.
What coilovers had you bought out if interest?

I'll have a look into cooksport springs and parts.

I was told they where K-tec coilovers, and that they came off a 04 clio 182 so just guessed that one 182 was as like the next..

I'd say your money would be much better spent refreshing the standard suspension with the addition of cooksports than cheap coilovers, I'd get them sold on to someone who is after the lowz.

  182cup & 172 racecar
Yes, standard new suspension and some different springs would be much better for you.

Even if those fitted, you wouldn't want them on your car.

Try Adam at Wolverhampton Renault, trader on here, you'll be surprised at how cheap a new set of suspension actually is.

I really like the cooksports on track, but you do have to be realistic that they are NOT a set of AST etc, so while they improve it over standard, it will not be like a racecar.

Yeah is only about 40 ish quid a corner for the shocks :)

Also, if you want your car to handle check the track rods / track rod ends / balljoints / steering rack bushes /top mounts

Any play in the steering on these cars feels horrible.

I'm making or planning on having a good handling car that does track day but it's not a track car.. (If that makes sense) I have already replaced steering rack track rod ends and bottom ball joints. And when I attempted to fit these coilovers I noticed my top mounts are a bit done so with will be getting replaced aswell.

Defo interested in cooksports springs but if I don't get any I'll go for eibach's. I think. Avoiding apex and vmaxx etc.
