coilovers level??? measurements line up...

  Focus RS Mk1
Hi all, had my aligments and geometry setup today, shouldve done it ages ago but just never bothered. £89.99 :)

anyway garage told me my coilovers werent level, which i was aware of, anyway, after that setup the car feels much lighter on its feet, turn in is sharper...steering isnt so heavy. although car feels very light on the front end above 100+ on bends.

They showed me the measurements they took from the ride hieght, and showed me the threads on the coilovers, one side is higher than the other, so i thought fair enough, so ive come onto the car this evening.

spent a couple of hours setting it up ride height wise. rears are low as they will go, both spot on the same, fronts are 1/3 of the way through its travel on the coils. both identical.

After dropping the car on the floor, 3mile drive ive measured the floor to arch height and its different each side. not by a huge amount but defo different.

how can this be even though the coilover are setup identicly? very weird.

going back again this week for a double check up now ive sorted the ride height. get the cambers re checked etc.

and before you ask im measureing on a flat garage floor that is nicely painted :) so floor isnt a probelm

the drivers side front i always set 5-10mm higher than the rest, this accounts for the weight of the driver

you do realise that by adjusting your ride heights AFTER you're alingment, you're going to have to get the alingment redone?

Might sound like a silly question, but why didn't they set the height of the coilovers before doing the alignment?

not neccesarily. youll only get a true setup in that way by corner weighting the car. not just roughly 5 to 10mm
