Colour Coding Bump Strips... How Long Will The Finish Last?

I am going to be colour coding my side bump strips in the next week or so and i just wondered how long will the finish last?
I was down at a bodyshop this morning asked them if they could do them and they said the finish wont last very long.

Surely, as long as i sand it all down properly, primer etc it should last quite a while?

yup should be fine mate, if you do a decent job then there is no reason why it cant last for ages, half the clio is made from plastic which has been painted and that doesnt fall off.

The ones on my 1.6 were fine a year later when I sold it.
