Common 172 Cup Faults

Hi,

Had my Cup for 6 months and have had the following replaced...

Engine mounts, gearbox mounts and the strut top mod done. I know there was a section of the exhaust replaced before I got it at the 12k service. Also had ECU reprogrammed to get rid of the fluctuation when cold, but its made bugger all difference.

Are there any other common faults with these? I want to get everything 100% before the warranty runs out. Ive heard something about a brake valve??

All 172s and 182s run a bit lumpy and hesitant when cold. My advice, start the engine, spend a moment to adjust ur seat and seat belt, make sure the heater is how you like it, put the radio on or your favourite cd - by which time its fine.

After youve driven about a mile its fine. I think they run lean when cold so that it can pass the emissions thing, but I may well be corrected.

Yeah. I took it in and had to take the technician out for a drive. The idiot at reception didnt have a clue, but the technician new all about it and arranged for it to go straight into the bodyshop...
 


Only had mine a month but


rear shock leaking & locked solid- (done under warranty)
dash rattles- (turn the music up)
tyres ware out- (do all cars do this?)
