Competition cup parts for std Cup

Does anybody know if its possible to get hold of parts used on the cup racers? These tuning mods obviously work. i know they have tight regs to comply to but they must change some bits, exhaust etc? After having a full manex system inc. 4 branch manifold on my old 205 gti, and the improvement that simply using the std manifold & downpipe, attached to a 75 quid group N exhaust from peugeot sport, ive been a bit dubious of anything thats not been proven on a race track.

Also evo magazine mentioned that renaultsport is bringing out add ons for the cup, seats rollcages etc. does anyone have any info on what they are actually gonna release, and when? Any Information much appreciated!

THey are std apart from the option of camber bolts of which they are alloed to use one (they have a few to choose from) non adj dampers but have a height adj platform, rear camber plates, orbisound exhaust (900 odd quid) open air filter and a diff ignition control by magnetti marelli.

and look under your bonnet at the std exhaust manifold.....notice the work of art it is!

right, wont be going the cup racer route then! your right the manifold is a work of art, i suppose i was just hopping they made a group N mid and backbox, what with the cat it still wouldnt of been that easy. Cheers anyway.

One last thing - L.A.D motorsport. They claim to be able to up the power of the std 172 to around 200bhp for about £1700. is this right? ive heard very bad things in the past about them. this seems too much of a power hike for 1700 quid. i wouldve thought it wouldve required some pretty serious work to achieve that. Anyone had it done and got it tested?

Does anyone consider the cup race car 6 speed sequential gearbox for your cup road car? I seruously do! Anyone know where I could get the secondhand box?

haha 172 cup you know what a sequential box cost. At least when we wreck a clio our driver will have to pay € 12000 for a new one by Renault !!!

And dont put coilovers on your clio unless you want to loose your teath its SO incredible hard you dont wanna know (yes I tried even with modded dampers)

cheers

and another thing I dont know what the emissions are in the UK but when I put the Orbisound race-exhaust from header till the end on my car the car made a racesound you DONT wanna know. I had to put in an extra damper otherwise my wife could here me coming from 10 miles. (but fast though)

172 cup - yes, Ive considered the Sadev sequential in the past, very seriously, including talking to the uk importer/sales company, you can get either a straight cut or semi-helical (quieter) and it will cost you about £7000 plus fitting, but depending on use (road or only hard track use) the gearbox wont need to be rebuilt as often as one used purely for racing.

if you want a nice exhaust, have a look at supersprint.com and their race systems for the 172.......plain, simple and gorgeous.

worthwhile.....um, no.

On the rd its horrid at low speed as with any sequential and transmission jerk is annoying.

noisy too.

Ktec has one for 4 grand up for sale i think.

The supersprint exhausts look very good, who are the UK distributers?

Any idea how much they are?

The racing ones, there are two typres (whats the difference?) look as though they replace the CAT, wont this cause problems with the oxygen sensors?

diff..........rd ones have gay tailpipe trims.......and race ones are fecking noisy, but gorgeous, and hopefully if they could be arsed, it could work better, but hey, who knows until test back to back, its only an exhaust.

well, we are talking about racing parts! :p

so, the sooper larger sunstrip is more in keeping, i prefer day glo yellow. on my wing mirrors too.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

is this some secret my tuning friends have been hiding from me!

does it work on a 2 stroker kart too?

on a 2 stroke you need double up on neons, change the doohicky to absolutely cream cracker mental and add vinegar to the fuel to get the same benifit.

well, ill be there through low and high tide.

is there a compramise colour?

ill need a bit of torque to go with it too as its naturally peaky.

you could use a red and blue one I suppose mate, that shoudl be a good alround set up. Should reduce drag to and itf mounted transversly it will provide downforce to.

I think we are taking this mockery to far Ben.

hmm, no I suppose not.

So you need to hook up some form of generator to power these neons, rob a cicuis, they have plenty.

thats a great idea, maybe i can tape a can to one of the chassis tubes, then hook up a button on the steering wheel to add grip fluid during the race!

so lets do it then!

What about our foundry idea? I have the parrafin stove full and fairy liquid bottles at the ready!
