connecting my Kenwood head unit to my steering controls???

Hiii, newbie here

basicallly, i hate my crappy door speakers, i blew the originals and got some new ones from halfords (mugged off) and there pants

i need bass back in my life

so i want a suba nd amp, and obviousy i need a head unit as there no connections in my standard

so iv got a head unit, the kenwood kdc-u31 and a mutant sub and amp ready to go

my question issssss
hooooow do i connect to the steering control??? i NEEEEED this control lol,

i dont have the patience or brain span to use my left hand (bit of a muppet) and id prob crash lol!1

also, will the time still show up on the display???
i have a 04 plate clio

The time (and temperature if you have it) will still be there but you will only get 'RENAULT' where the radio information goes.
