Just taken the shitheap to have wheel alignment done. Toe was waaaaaay out on the front owing to the front balljoints being changed. Rest of it was alright, rear needed a bit of touching. Car goes straight again now which is nice

Not gone wrong in ages, which is nice. That said, it's gets driven once a week tops atm. Not special enough to just be sat there but I really cba getting something else right now

The bike with 11bhp gets used far more

Don't want to drive it just for the sake of driving it?
Not really, it's not a novelty anymore. It's nice to take out every now and then but for the most part it sits behind the wifes Juke and I take that to the shops instead

Hmmmmm, time to move it on me thinks. If I was happier taking my C-Max for grocery top ups instead of the RS with a 20 mile detour on the way home, I'd get it up for sale and find something else.

It's the effort of selling it that I just CBA with, and no particular rush to get rid. I'll only spend the money on things that aren't a car
Full milltek system would change that cookie, weird i still love mine nearly 2 years on.
I like the noise as it is tbh. I drove a mk5 R32 with a Milltek and didn't think much of it
Get a kit car. Caterham or westfield.
I only have half a garage and that's filled with bikes and random s**t

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
If it does nothing for you then i'd shift it on while its still worth a few quid.
Even if you don't know what to buy next.

Car will be getting prepped and up for sale soon, so thought I'd work out what it's cost me.

Purchase price in April 2016: £9,600 (which was too much, in hindsight, but they were all similar prices)
Roughly what it's worth now ~8k (so thats more than 100 a month in depreciation)

Things that it cost me:

Whatever 8000 miles of fuel costs @ ~23-24mpg
Haldex fluid and filter change - £118
Valve change and rebalance (on the neverending quest to fix a leaking tyre) - £10
2x new wheel bearings - £100 (I think labour cost me a bottle of whisky to @Scrooge)
New EBC brakes and pads all round - £320
Wheel refurb - £285
Lower balljoints - £14 each
Breakdown cover (handy) - £55
4 new Conti Sport Contact 5's - £386
Service inc new plug, labour to fit lower balljoints, new rear springs, labour to fit springs, MOT and VAT - £585
Fixing the mirror that melted/vibrated it's way loose on the Isle of Man - £8 for Gorilla glue
Average MPG on the IoM - 16

£1895 I've spent on things. £1600 roughly in depreciation (dependent on final sale price).

Taking an average of 24mpg, and 120ppl for fuel price, that means I spent roughly £1100 on fuel

So to own a silver Golf for 14 months its cost me about £4595

Next car is going to have an AMG badge so it'll be even more!

To add, there's a loan being paid off in the background @ 225 a month that I got for the M3

I may be better off selling the Golf, clearing the loan and then seeing what I can get for 500 quid a month on a lease

Unless they drop in 10 grand over the next few weeks, nope. E55 or CLS55 is what I'm looking at (again). Should have just bought a CLS last time when I had more money to spend
Fair play boss, gotta be a CLS55 - they still look nice (E55's do too & are a heroes motor) but going down the unit in it would be a bit weird ;)

  E55 AMG
The CLS is the heavier slightly less practical, special needed brother of the E55 tbh

Don't think I'm going to sell it, which is really a realisation I should have had before I spent nearly 70 quid on advertising it

The cars I really want are double any budget I'm capable of atm (because I need to save a lot of money just to give to the govt). I think an E55/CLS55, as nice as they are, are just settling and buying whatever I can get for my budget. Don't really want another stepping stone car.

Hopefully pass my bike tests soon and that'll be most of my speeeeeeeeed fixation taken up with those

Yeah so it's still for sale, someone coming to see it tonight. Not overly fussed if it goes or not

f**king timewasters

Also the car appears to have decided it won't adjust the xenons properly, pointing at the f**king ground. I'm just going to ship it off to WBAC and be done with it.

Thatll be the xenon adjuster on the passenger front wishbone iirc, its probably snapped/popped out of its balljoint. Dont WBAC it, just drop the price, then some nice bargain hunter like me will buy it !!

(I dont want it btw)

It's not all the way to the ground, you can see it try to adjust, it's just not adjusting enough. Both seem to be level with each other. Meh. It can go back to the garage and they can fix it, bored of it
