Coolant change- help me!

I know it should be easy but I tried doing a coolant change yesterday and thought I did it ok but only put 2 litres of coolant in and it's still at correct level on header tank. More than 2 litres came out of top rad hose so does anyone have a decent guide on how to do a coolant change on the F4R engine as I'm sure something isnt right

Did you bleed the system? The bleed screw is on the right if the engine near the thermostat.

run the engine for 10 mins with the cap off the header tank. When the thermostat opens the coolant level should drop. Did you not drain it from the bottom hose?

all sorted now.

1 - remove air box
2 - undo header tank screw lid
3 - undo bottom rad hose
4 - undo bleed valve
5 - connect up bottom rad hose
6 - run engine and pour in new coolant / antifreeze
7 - wait untill there is a nice uniterruped flow from the bleed valve
8 - do up bleed valve
9 - keep pouring in as thermostat will open up and level in header will drop
10 - fill to max line on header tank
11 - put header tank lid back on
12 - keep an eye on levels after the first few miles driving about
