Cost to replace all wheel bearings on 172 Cup?

  Radical SR3
Can anyone tell me what they paid for this job? I have the bearings from K-Tec so just need the labour. It sounds like a bit of a job to remove the hub and rear discs yourself to have them pressed out and new in. Have had a quote of 5 hours labour all in from one decent independant.

Based in Surrey. Also anywhere good near to me?

for the rear its probably easier/cheaper to get genuine disks off someone here with the bearings already pressed think they are £90 quid or thereabouts, then you just take the rear hub nut off, caliper and put the new one on and its done.

Then get a quote just for fronts, or if you you dont want to do the back yourself, ask then how much to fit rear discs with bearings already in place, you still might save time/cost

I'll give them a call tomorrow Atouba, have they worked on these cars a fair bit?

I've bought a full set of bearings from K-Tec today (didn't think the rear discs needed replacing).

I'm thinking a similar thing though, just remove the rears and get pressed out/in and put back on. I take it I'll need some high temp grease also (and 30mm?? socket) might whip them off tomorrow night.

Remember when doing the rears yourself that the rear hub nuts are torqued up not just tightened up to whatever.

As Atouba says I would just take it to Stone automotive http://www.stone-automotive.com/ they know these cars like the back of their hands but I would personally just send back the rear bearings and buy genuine new rear discs with them already in place.

If you do them yourself then the hub nuts are 30mm and I think torques are 285 front and 175 rears but thats just off the top of my head :)

Will give em a call for a quote. I don't have a torque wrench so that plus the extra cost of the disc combo might make it cheaper to just get it done?
