Could this blow 2 amps...

a new stereo was fitted to my mates car, a sony one, he was already running two amps all the fitter had to do was put the phonos in the correct holes i think the remote was wired up properly, after fitting the sony stereo it 'apparantly' ran the amps, but later on that day both subs didnt work, i took the stereo out for my mate the other day and found the 1of the phonos for 1 of the amps was in the 'bus in phono' on the back of the stereo and the other lead was in line out phono

he claims that the fitter has blown both amps, but i sed that power doesnt run through the bus-in input and my mate says hes gonna try and get 2 new amps out of the company that fitted the amps.

in my opinion it sounds like the amps are sent up wrong and blown the amps, original stereo was a jvc chamelion.

Can't see that the amps would have blown up due to the phonos being incorrect, they only carry the signal, not any power as such

thats exactly what i have sed to him, and he thinks he can get 2 new amps from halfords where i work too and where it was fitted, so i should tell him to 'do one'?

lol bus phono probably means 5vDC in a digital form

you put this into an amp and it will probably fry the input stage

Really?wasnt me who did it, so ill have to give the boy a b@llocking tomo!!so the amp will be broke?or headunit?
i am lost now mate!!
if i installed id of done it properly this is what happens when u dont do it yourself!!

yeah ill test the amp tomo, he had two phonos one was in the right output and the other in the bus in which obiously funked the other amp!!!
could be interesting at work tomo!!
