Craking steering wheel when turning?

I seem to have this prob when the car is stationary and i begin to turn the wheel creaks, anyone know what this could be, its doin ma head in.

You shouldn't be turning the wheel when the cars stationary it hammers the PAS system. Thats what the noise is.

prob, its only recently thats it doin it. eg when im parking etc.

mine does it too, pissed me off! It sounds like it's coming from the bottom of the column..
