Hi all, where can I find the crank sensor on my 172? I'm trying to clean it up as I suspect it's got something to do with the car not starting properly. Many thanks!

On top of the gearbox,in line with the flywheel.
Think I've found it, struggling to get the bloody thing out though. Can the 2 pipes in front of it be disconnected at all? To make it easier access to the bolts? They look like air con pipes

Use an extension on a 1/4 inch ratchet mate, the pipes really don't need to come out.
Wicked done that now 
cleaned it all up, when putting back in will it click into position before screwing back in, or does it just sit there loosely in place before putting screws in?
