Well, in a matter of hours today, the wife has bagged-off her demonic Mini Cooper S and a racing blue 182 is ready for her to pick up 9.30am on Saturday.....

Maybe Ill be able to splice the two together and get a 4.0litre Clio 364!

Adam - yup on both accounts. Had the bonnet up the other day and the manufacturer stamp said the build date was August 2002.

She would still probably have it...... if it wasnt for the rear calipers sticking, the front windscreen being replaced twice, a grinding noise coming from the nearside front, dodgy dashboard electronics, horrendous fuel consumption and last but by no means least (and not a fault of the Mini, I hasten to add) someone backing into it and driving off.... The rear wiper blade simply fell off last week too.

Well become a 2 172 sort-of-family next September - the future-mother-in-laws had an 02 plate in Monaco blue since new. Although the other half might buy it from her mum soon. Now, that would be weird, having 2 identically coloured 172s in the drive...

Not quite up the the standard of two 182s but my better half has a 1.6 Dynamique. When its parked next to my 172 its a proper his and hers much to the amusement of my friends!!

DOH! Spotted my own mistake. Its not the racing blue - its the arctic blue shes gone for....

fmp_ Its worked out really well finance wise. The front tyres on her MCS were shot, so theyd need replacing soon and the tax was up for renewal at the start of June. The monthly payments are less on the 182 and so is the insurance as Jain has gone for a low-mileage policy (if she does more than 4k a year, its unusual). Thumbs up all round really - especially as the arctic blue colour is one of her favourites....

Would be good at some later stage to trade both in for a Vee!

Then a few years ago we had a Mk1 V6 and a Mk1 172 together.

bought my 172 from a bloke name j townsend whop worked for reno not the same one on here thou and he had a 182 sitting in the drive aswell saddly the 172 is now dead and buried a life span off only 12,123 miles
