Thanks for all your feedback chaps.

I think we know where to improve things for next year.

The evening stuff pretty much needs to be exactly the same but we'd need a rethink on some of the daytime entertainment.

An arcade would be very cool I think and maybe some carnival style stalls. Whilst I agree that it needs to be kept simple we also don't want people getting bored.

The karting seemed really popular and we hope to make them available for the whole day next time.

I think the most important thing to remember is that it's you lot that made CSS15 such a huge success. As long as we have a decent turnout of people who are willing to socialise and have a good laugh it's always going to work no matter what.

Did the racing simulator van get much use?

Looked like a good set up but I never saw many people using it, think it had gone by the time I'd finish on track which was a shame.

I think the thing with CSS is no one knows what it's meant to be as it's still a work in progress, we've learnt from experience that a traditional car show with rows of identical shiny Clio's is boring as sin, Gaydon was good because there was a car museum to look at, Duxford was good because there was loads of planes and tanks to look at and a lunatic in a Spitfire doing an incredible display, but you could go and see any of that without the Clio's and still have a good day, the piss up afterwards at the camp site was more of a laugh which is why on site camping is such a good idea.

By far the best one yet was this years, even though I didn't even take mine on track it was still amazing as I had rides in mates cars and really enjoyed watching other peoples go round the track, then the evening entertainment was on another level, not only could you have a drink with your mates but there was free food, a bloody big beer tent which was great when we had the odd shower, it also makes everyone sit together so you end up meeting new people and having more conversations, which is kind of the point in having a car club in the first place, the band were bloody great and really created a good atmosphere and made it feel more like a night out down town.

As for the daytime entertainment, I had every intention of using it all but I was having such a good laugh with my mates I just never got round to it, but that isn't to say people just coming for the day didn't make use of them, I think there still needs to be a few things for day visitors but as far as i'm concerned that's the only work in progress left to get right, the rest of the weekends format was absolutely spot on.

More of the same for next year please.

Forgot to mention that Blyton had a decent Cafe with nice food at a reasonable price, which meant I didn't have to cook a bloody thing all weekend, which I was really happy about as I was either drunk or hungover and would probably have poisoned myself.

I think blyton was the perfect place to have CSS in regards to faculties, location, track, space for camping, etc.

It was easy to get to and there's local shops nearby if you need food, fuel, drink etc. It only took us 3hrs to get there but if I lived further away I'd still travel to there as it was a good venue.

I think we all need to remember that this is a social event.

If you (CS) provide too much activities, people won't get to socialise.

All we need is a track (it's why most of us are on this forum) an area for the buffers to display their cars and an opportunity to drink beer with our mates.

Any more and you run the risk of us not using it because we're too busy chatting to each other or nobody chatting to each other because they're too busy playing arcade games.

Less is more etc.

I agree from a personal perspective, and it will be a much easier and cheaper event to organise if we do just that in the future.

The thing is though, even with the way we promoted this years event by massively encouraging the social side with evening & camping, around 50% of the total attendees came just for the day. We've got to remember that some members aren't as sociable, some don't really do camping, and a small number may not even be bothered with track driving, so we generally need to have some other stuff to do otherwise people moan.

But definitely the weekend social event is where I think we all want the show to be, and what it's all about really.

CSS '15. Spot On. The End.

Plus, as we all know about the place, its facilities, etc. We can all be more prepared, and I wouldn't have driven randomly towards Doncaster while 'Hanging Out Of My Arse' on the way home. Just need to remember to book the Friday to prepare and the Monday off to recover as there was no way I'd have made it into work on Monday and lasted the day if I had gone in.

Just on my way home from the enemy CSOC weekend. Was no where near as good as CSS15. Everyone at CSS was so much more friendly and social. The gazebo and entertainment at CSS just pissed all over it! I only went to CSOC weekender for the track time tbh.

CS till I die

Cheers guys!

It's posts like these that make all the time and effort it takes to organise CSS thoroughly worthwhile.

Look forward to seeing you both next year :cool:

So what was it like then, what was the format of the weekend, just a trackday and people camping with their mates and not socialising?

Did they have free food and a band?

No but they had some pre cooked baked potatoes

Anyway joking aside I'm sure they had a great weekend but it's clear who's top dog when it comes to organising this kind of event.

And it's brutally obvious that as a group we really know how to socialise and have a brilliant time.

Roll on CSS16

Roll on CSS16
Jacket Potatoes and Chilli Con Carne
BBQ Pulled Pork
Spicy Chinese Pork
Satay Chicken
Burgers
Sausages
Sauces, Rolls, Cheese, Drinks etc etc

@DaveDreads Format was arrive on Sunday from 4PM Onwards and park up with everyone, set up camp etc, BBQ was turned on around 7PM and then everyone just socialised, chatted, had some drink, and casually Mcdrifted off to bed. Sunday was the track day, we had admin members going round inviting people to enter the show and shine and gave out free green PW (Passenger Welcome) Stickers to place on your windscreen if your happy to let people come in your car for laps. We had a member recovered by chip, and people helping each other out as much as poss.

I guess you have to actually put some effort in though, if you want to be sociable. No we didnt have a band, or fair ground rides.

@Sunglasses_Ron Top Dog, like its some sort of competition lol.

They had a bbq which was good to be fair. No band, and no massive tent which I think caused it to be less social unless you all ready knew a lot of people, of which I knew very few.

The track effort was brilliant, 50 out of 54 cars on track were clios, and the driving standards were as good as CSS.

Sounds like it was a good weekend, you're right about making an effort about socialising, no matter what club you're a part of there are those that find it easy and those that don't, passenger ride stickers is a good idea though, we'll have to nick that for next years CSS.

It was a good weekend. I just think the band and tent CSS had pushed it over the edge and left a lot required to beat it.

Bit of a shame that both clubs couldn't get a long for a day and have a massive event.

Better road leading into the track! That 'road' as I'm not even sure it can be classed as a road was awful haha. Top work though guys! My eyes where still smoke damaged from the fires a week later!

You must fit in well on CSOC.

A Sunday track session just simply wouldn't work for us.

We all like a good piss up and that's just not conducive with a track day the following morning (Javelin really wouldn't be happy about that I'm sure!)

CSS isn't just a track day it's more a weekend festival now. People can enjoy a track day and attractions before settling down to an evening of socialising and quality entertainment.

F*ck doing a track day with how I felt on the Sunday morning of CSS 😂

Like others have said there was something for everyone at CSS. And that was exactly how we had planned it :beers::up:

Just thought of a sunday activity.

Pissed banger racing.

Bring a few fucked 1.2s and we can all have dog fights in them.

...don't tell javelin though.

If we had a 30k budget im sure we could of arranged a band. I should of called my mate martin garrix up im sure he would of come down if we could of paid him

Get a grip Kyle. If we had spent 30k on CSS we would could have held it at the ring and paid for everyone to get there.

We spent a modest amount on CSS this year and it was money well spent it would seem.

If Martin Garrix is your mate surely he'd do it for free?

As the creator of csoc you didn't even go to the first weekender did you? 😂😂 And how did your socialising at the camping go for you at this one?
