CTR VS CLIO 172 Ragnotti (clip)

  BMW M3
lol... good lad. Nice to see some proper footage and not hear-say.

Thought the CTR would start pulling after a while as they must have passed 100 and also the in gear accel I thought would be better in CTR.

Dont know if the clio was std though but still.....nice !!

That was a good vid, but I also agree, don't think it was a standard Clio. Don't really care about the CTR vs. Clio business to be honest, but I like racing vids like that, they are fun

good vid, thats the results ive had playing with my mates ctr, all this tripe about them pulling after 100 bollox!!! but then it does depend on ho gets the better start

why wouldnt the cup be standard? an exhaust and filter wouldnt make much difference

Doesn't really prove s**t tbh.

The Civic is as good away from a standing start as a 172/182 etc.

not in the wet it isnt, i couldnt stop the ctr spinning the wheels till 3rd gear, i thought the cup was bad

Who mentioned weather conditions? Whats that got to do with anything?

  Clio 197
Barely any real-life difference if you look at the big-picture.

Obviously, one will fall-apart before the other (£0.01 to the first correct answer).

I'd say it's all down to the driver in a straight line.

I can't comment about twisties, but the CTR is no push-over.

Surely it would be more down to the car...as people often say (who don`t actually go on the strip) it`s piss easy. I would say that a track would be down to the driver more than a straight line race.

Yes, but if you have two identical cars - the drivers' gear/clutch timing will show-up differences in 1/4 mile times.

Similarly, CTR Vs Cup can be treated in the same way in a straight-line race.

nobody just stating my experiences of driving a ctr! they launch pretty well but in anything other than bone dry its hard to not spin the wheels

"Doesn't really prove sh*t tbh.

and ive launced a ctr from santa pod and it wasnt!!!

  No more clio's for me!
Good vid....love the count down...

1 - gets ready
2 - foots already planted
3 - a milli second after 2 and he's gone!

Clio better than CTR, CTR better than Clio.....Blah, Blah, Blah! lol ;)

Been on here a few times.. CTR is 2 weeks old and the Cup is modded.. Fella who knows them both posted on the CTR forum...

Not agreeing with that mate and I've driven one everyday for the past 2 months.... I find its exactly the same as the Clio. :)

^^

*cough*

we're all forgetting something: rubber!

Nobody's mentioned that yet... what tyres were you running lawrence?

  Turbos.
Not exactly conclusive as whoever does the counting down is always going to be off a fraction before...

Although a Cup with mods means naff all, a zorst and filter doesn't mean it's any quicker...

  850 T5. mmmm Turbo!
why does everyone find it so hard to believe the cup is faster.

i guess this is why al ctr owners stay on CS just so we cant think for a second a clio is faster.

the difference is f**k all on the vids, prolly down to driver skills.
im bored of this argument, nice vids

would love to see a standing still video.

as mentioned the video doesn't prove nowt, this arguement will never be solved, lol

  Snotter's
does the clio have the ragnotti exhaust ? stick a spoon exhaust and an aem cai on the ctr and its bye bye clio
