Cup spoiler catching struggles

Back when i first fitted my spoiler I had problems with it always catching the car when i was closing the boot. Managed to get it just near but it still always catched. I've just gone and removed it again to fit a new brake light to the spoiler, but now it's catching worse than ever.

I'm pushing it up as far as it will go as to try and avoid it catching, but it's not having any of it. Any tips?
Tempted to reem the holes out a little bit on the bumper for it.

When I fitted one to my old 172 it was a case of unscrewing the old then screwing on the new. 1st attempt and perfect. I don't see why yours shouldn't be the same tbh.

Do you/can you adjust the boot by a few mm? Has it had a bit of a rear bump maybe? Seems strange to me.

Maybe, i've not had a look at adjusting the boot itself.
Definitely not had a bump as there's no creasing anywhere.
