pretty good timing on the winter wheels though, a week before the snow and ice...

  Turbos.
Looks kind of cool in the snow...

Have my winter tyres on order from Kwik Fit, but supposedly they've been cancelling orders :dapprove:

I wouldn't try it in the Pissrat. A dead pheasant in the road nearly went through my sump ffsnake!

there are only a few people on here that know where i live but for those that don't...its in the middle of bumbf*ck knowhere....and at the bottom of 3 hills.
since the snow, this has been a bit of a problem, the passat is pretty dam heavy and with the slippery conditions it only managed to get about 800 meters up the lane the other day, since then we have had to use the girlfriends 206, or got a taxi ride from a friend in his 4x4...

however after seeing another friend last night (the mate who owns the unit where i keep the clio), he said he would drag the passat out with his 4x4, happy days. so...

first of all i set about clearing the car, not as much snow as some of you northerners but still enough trouble,
SAM_1049.jpg

then my decals decided to part company with the car because of the cold, bit gutted but its not much £££ lost really in the grand scheme of things,
i then tried turning the car around so when my mate arrived we could just chuck the tow-rope on and go, nope, got stuck almost straight away...atleast it was pointing kind of the right way.
SAM_1051.jpg

at this point i decided to fill the car with all the bits that needed to go down to the clio, i would spend the day at the unit with my mates, and hopefully i could collect the clio....
my mate turned up and dragged me out, dragged being the word as the central part of the lane was way higher than the lowest point of the passat, still hopefully that helped clear it for the neighbours...

tonight i have left the car at the top of the lane in a gateway, hopefully it'll still be there in the morning...lol

god dam i need a 4x4

I like those hubcaps. You must have bought them off a proper good looking bloke.

A hubcap was damaged??

That was the least of your problems. What wheels were they then? They 110% came in the boot of a Passat.

Happy days.

I've got some time off over xmas/new year (hopefully) so I want to come up and see whats going on. Do-able?

Oh, and I might be moving out near to you, but i'll talk about that nearer the time. ;)

SO I BINNED IT!!!

pretty glad i had the winter steels on...
traveling the same back lane that i did several times yesterday in the passat on the way down to the unit (were the clio is kept) there is a long 90deg sweeper, well i managed to get the passat at 45deg's and that was it, i slid it perfectly up against the hedge and on a snow bank, well and truly not moving anywhere

until the first person along was the landlord of above said unit in his 4x4, a yank out and we are back in business, perfect, on the cards a drive around the mendips doing some last minute shopping, the hunk of junk daily beater didn't miss a beat...not even when a stranded C3 and Volvo estate were stuck on a hill, nope, just mounted the verge and slowly made our way up, the only disappointment being that we didn't mock the refugees as we passed

god dam i love cheap daily's

Brilliant.

Any damage? All the damage to mine in this weather is underneath. There are massive lumps of ice stuck to the road. Low cars beware!

Sump took a nice crack, but no leakage so I'm ok. I think.

Sump hangs low like a nutsack on mine, Neil is lucky as his subframe is lower than his sump.

just thought i would post up for the humor of the member in question, obviously he felt my pain after reading that i had lost the decals on the windscreen due to the snow/cold spell.

i am sure he was just mocking me when i received a replacement for said decals, but as i have my alter-ego appearance (WURZEL) to keep up i thought i would apply said sticker (for now) anyways, enjoy.

What happens if you throw Diesel on it after sanding it down? <-- n00b lol

Love the car mate, what mileage has it got? Do you mind me asking how much you paid? Girlfriend's Mum is looking at buying one of these

as for this car its not a good judgement to go by really as i got it through family, the car is currently on around 150K but is still going strong, my dad owned it for around 8-9 years so i knew the history, i just gave him what Mazda offered him for trade in on it. i should imagine you can pick them up for around a grand... i dunno never looked, sorry

Doesn't rust then? She's been offered a W or V reg one, can't remember which with about 200k miles on for £900, just had all the belts etc changed 7k ago, been a rep barge for years, worth it?
