Dash light problem...

Tried a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for, basically on saturday I noticed whenever my lights turn on sidelights or dipped beam the dash lights all dim including the stereo display, any ideas? This happens with the auto lights as well. Car is a 182 ff btw

Try adjusting the dash illumination adjuster switch from "DIM" to "BRIGHT"

Surely they would be dim all the time though no?

Is this a bite? - reduces glare from the dashboard so you can focus on whats outside in the poor light conditions and then if still too bright use the dimmer switch
