dci clio engine & 6 speed conversion?

Hi all,

just joined cliosport.net and im looking for some advice on dci engine swaps.

thinking of the laguna DCI 120 1.9 with the six speed box?

is the 2.2 DCI physically much bigger than the 1.9 DCI

will the brand new clio DCI 106's 6 speed box fit a DCI 100?

i guess the DCI 100 and DCI 106 are the same engine just different maps?

also does anyone know any good renault breakers to source the above engines and rough prices?

im a race mechanic by trade so will be doin it all myself, just new to the renault scene.

The new engine will fit but yo make the 4 th mount work you'll need either a 172/182 subraframe or you'll have to ignore it.
The 100 and 105 are very different engine different blocks for a starter bigger clutch plate for mating to the new gearbox.
The 1.9 will fit I did some roungh calculations the raditor would need to be modified or you'd need to have the high pressure pump moved as thats in the way. that gets powver from the cam area but its not imstoppable.
The probably will be what you want to do one option is to get a crashed Megan etc and swop litrally everything wire for wire so you'd have all its bits or you should be able to get the standard dci's ECU to rn it all its a powerful ECU the specialst abroad have managed to work it so you might need to get a specialist over to make it run.
For suspension and brakes I'd say use the 172 hubs, suspension arms and brakes then get the dampers and spring from a 172 or coilovers etc.
As Fred said Matts the person to speak to about prices.
A 172 transplant is a better value option though AMtt will sell you everything you need engine, geabox, suspension, driveshafts, ECU, UCH, dash for £1.5k +VAT. I did think about a transplant like this some time ago but the 172 option is better value even if you include the extra cost of fuel.

They did a 120, and 140 hp version I think.

The 6 speed laguna box won't easiley fit. I think its the one Fred using on his 2.0T transplant but if you have a look at his old posts he put a few pictures up showing that to make it sit righ it needs to ahve about 1 or 2 inches chopped out of the chassic legs so you'd need to weld in some strenght back in there.
172 hubs are bigger and beafier. plus the 172 has wider track and the 172 brakes are more powerful which would be handy.

you don't have to chop the chassis leg, you have to grind down the subframe (thats using an ND0 gearbox) the laguna oil burner i "think" uses the PK6 gearbox (clio V6 and traffic van box)

pk6 box, ask matt how many they change a week at his place last time i was there, there was a pile of them with holes in they can take the torque of the oil burner

Matt bought something daft like 2000 (no joke!) PK6 boxes!

Renault rejected boxes, only with dodgy bearings, they replace them, rebuild the box, hey presto!
