DCi ECU (edde etc...)

DCi 65 ECU went while jump starting, is a new one needed?

Can it be second hand and reprogrammed? (where and roughly how much)

How much work is involved to get it running perfect again. It's one of my dad's cars he has in stock, and needs to be healthy to be sold.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Isnt it just a case of buying a second hand one and having it re-mapped? Thats what i thought it was until you asked the question and now its got me thinking. Do you know what specifically has gone? Thought id get this thread goin pal

I just had a goose on the internet and Renault need to reprogramme the multi-timer unit which is a series of relays and i dont know about the fueling yet. If i find ill tell

Cheers dude. Sure a second hand one can be used, cause Renault Specialists will sell one. But they have none...

Need it ASAP.

Auto Electrician said it's shorted the ECU so it turns over etc just doesnt start. Any companies to re code/supply parts are appreciated.

The ECUs are coded to the car as part of the immobisiler function, you need a new ecu which for least hassle needs to be a dci 65 one and someone with a renault clip computer so it can be coded to the car.

my dad spoke to a company who said they could repair it but they quoted 40quid just to pick it up, so if they can't it's 40quid wasted.

he was gonna ring you mike (rentech) in the morning i think to see what ya think. Just tryin to find a solution as we need it doing soon as poss. No use havin a car sat like a lemon :)

Renault Specialists quoted 125ish for everything needed but have nothing at the moment. he'd like it pretty much sorted tomorrow.
