dci to 172/182

  Astra GSI, 172, Golf
hi i have got a clio dci van . the engine recently gave up in it due to it not been looked after by the previous owner . i have spent a few hundered quid rebuildin head /newer turbo with no luck still smokin dont no whether i can justify spending any more money on a diesel when a sport engine is only 800 quid .
What do you all think i will need for this
the diesel uses a electric powersteering and if i need to i can get a steering rack
i will need
new fuel lines external fuel pump
engine
engine loom
starter motor's etc
exhaust
clocks
mounts
gearbox

i have already got
cup suspension and brakes ,wishbones
air filter.
what other bits do you think i will need . probs missed a few bits out
any help will be appreciated as i need to get this underway soon

youll need to modify your subframe.
if you want to make it easy you'l need door looms and possibly rear loom (my plugs were different but many peoples who have done it are the same)
you will need the dash loom, ecu, uch, transponder ring and key from the donor car, will also need chassis number from the donor car.
erm, all ancileries from the engine, rad and all pipework, servo pipe etc
exhuast manifold with cat, and complete exhaust back
pas pump, pipes and rack or you could wire up the electric steering if you want to keep abs, in which case you will need the lot to come from an FF172, if you dont want abs (and this makes it much easier) looms will come from a cup in which case you will need the hydraulic setup
probably forgotten a few bits myself, but even with that lot you will still come in to problems

You can keep the electric rack do a search there been a thread on this before.

No need to chnage the subframe either drill the holes for the other mount or don't bother with it.

As for rear looms can just go and cut and splice the looms round the door area.

You can keep the electric rack or not and keep abs or not there no fixed rule.
