Decatting a standard 172 system??

can this be done and is there any point in doing it

ive a bit of a problem as i live in N.Ireland its proving difficult to get a s/s exhaust that i like for my phase 2 172.....the magnex's etc all look to in your face after seeing a pic of one and hang down to low for me...i like the prospeed/kteccut into the bumper but its not worth the trip for me to be honest

so what im thinking is decat on the standard system to maybe free it up a bit and possibly give slightly more noise.....im assumng the standard exhaust has the same amount of boxes as a s/s exhaust but just insnt as durable or look as nice

can it be done or is a decat pipe a different bore from the standard renault system

k-tec can post you a recessed system?

you can decat your system just to make it more free flowing and makes it a bit raspier. but why not just get a local exhaust place to make you a prospeed type system ?

mine has a janspeed decat on a standard system... bolt on mod, do it!!!

cheers for the replies dudes beleive me middo the custom jobs over here are done by powerflow who are complete butchers i wouldnt let them near my motor...gt gaz im liking your idea must go and investigate a janspeed decat...bolt in/out is exactly what im after..any gain noticed with noise or even a bit more freee flowing??....

gt gaz where did you get the decat pipe from i can only find sports cats at the minute
