Declaring removal of rear seats

W

Willy

Hiya.

Does anyone declare the removal of their rear seats? I've rang up about 7 or so companies now including adrian flux and quinn direct and non of them allow this. I've seen so many people do it so I can only assume people do not declare it.

"Hi yeah, I'd like to declare that I've removed my ass from the drivers seat. We cool??"

^ Flol.

I wouldnt declare if your just taking seats out, If your stripping it, Painting it etc it would be harder to get away with if you crashed, Which i dont advise.

Well what I mean is taking the rear sseats out, seatbelts and buckles. I'm sure if you had a crash they would wonder why its all out, and why you didnt just fold the seats down.

Not trying to be petty or anything, just dont want to get in the s**t

Rear seats out and stripping, completely different ball game. I wouldnt worry. Yes my Valver is fully declared before anyone comments.

Insurance companies will generally refuse, or at least reduce the payout if they find out the vehicle isn't 'standard', and as declared to them when you took out your policy.

Consider if, in the unfortunate event, you have a serious accident on the way to the tip...

No rear seats fitted with less trim bla bla bla... then they spot your exhaust is just inches off the floor, so lift your bonnet to see your non-standard air filter. You are giving them such an excuse not to pay out. They tell the police you are not covered  points... fines...

In the words of Mr Eastwood... do you feel lucky?
