Demand for sunflower yellow ph1 172s??

Yo!

Due to needing a van for work and already running a camper van it looks like I might have to consider getting rid of the sunflower ph1 Awful timing as I've just spent out for 4 brand new tyres and a service but insurance is ddue so I've got to consider it.

Anyway, question is whether I should get it sold pretty easily due to there onlly being 31 of them in the UK? What do people think? Just toying with the idea atm but as I said, might not have a choice soon as if I get a van I won't have anywhere to park the thing or any time to drive it.

people will pay extra for a yellow one so there quite easy to shift.

try to keep hold if you can, but should sell on pistonheads - although i dont agree people will pay more for it as its very much a marmite colour.

It's like most things, the people who like it will pay the extra, the people who aren't a fan won't look twice.

Personally I like them and would pay a little more (few hundred maybe) to get one over another colour.

As said, depends how badly someone wants one I guess. I'd pay slightly more for one over the other colours.

agree with deb. i was willing to pay more for a racing blue, could have easily got a black one a few weeks ago for £7,600-8k

Well that's a hard question, I've owned it for 2 years and haven't looked at prices for them in that time as I didn't want a second one I suppose this is what will decide me; I'll only be selling if keeping it will be detrimental to my business but it will have to be enough mular to be worthwhile as I really love everything about the car. It's almost mint and if I bought another one if I had the money in a year or so it wouldn't be the same. Better stop before I cry lol.

Could anyone who's been shopping recently give me a rough idea of what it's worth? In some ways it'd be nice if someone said 2k as then I'd have to park it in the barn for a year and re-insure it then

Just serviced with new air filter, silkolene pro race.
Completely standard apart from 3" stainless tailpipe
As close to mint as you will get for a 6 year old car - very loved and driven properly.
JustMats cliosport black mat set with yellow edging
Interior as new
MOT July 18th so will have 12 months if I sell

At the moment it has the following but not sure if I will take out as could use in something else.

Alpine 9833 head unit
Alpine Ipod Adaptor installed so just plug iPod into glovebox and control from the HU
Alpine 500w amp in boot
Alpine 6x9s in parcel shelf
Boxed 10" kenwood woofer

Not for cruising around town pi55ing people off, just sounds very clear and can go plenty loud enough if you're in the mood.

When did it get its cambelt done? I would pay a little extra for one, especially if its mint and standard. I couldnt find one for sale when I was looking, then when I did I think Middo bought it!!! Settled for flame red which is the next best thing.

Cam belt was last done before I bought it, got the receipt for September 2005 when the car was on 52k so 2 years and 25k miles ago. When would it next be due? Hadn't crossed my mind yet as seems a bit soon?

Not at the minute, I don't have a digi cam. If it turns out I have to sell it then I'll borrow one and get loads of pics up. It looks exactly like any other sunflower yellow but with no dinks down the side. I've spent the last 18 months making my girlfriend walk from the far side of the car park wherever we go as I won't park in between other cars in it lol.

High? It works out to 11800 a year which is about bang on average I think. They only made these for less than a year and there's only 31 of them so I think you'd be hard pushed to find a ph1 yellow with less miles. It's been serviced on the dot and purrs, there's 100k left in her if someone else carries it on and I think you'd easily find lower mileage examples (in other colours) that didn't run as smoothly. I spent a couple of months finding mine as I was picky about how well it was taken care of, the colour was just a massive bonus

I assumed it was Middo as he is over that way, his is the only sunflower Ive seen. Its been for sale a while now and the price has just been reduced from £4650. CF bonnet is gash thats for sure and probably heavier than the standard alloy bonnet, if I was after it I would be asking if he still had the standard bonnet.

i paid 4.6k for mine with 50 odd k on the clock. that was with a wanraty and a few bits though. I never knew there was a sunflower ins tafford, should have met up for a photo shoot as i'm only in stoke, and over stafford way quite a bit

Well I'll try to sell it to someone local then they can drive up and see ya Some photos of 2 together would have been a first I think so would have been good to do a few months back when I wasn't in the middle of setting up a business.

So if I sell it then it's going to be around the 4k mark without the stereo? Reckon I'll take that out as it's unlikely anyone will want to pay £500 more with it in and I'd only want to replace it to put in the van as it sounds so nice
