Denty Dent Dent!

Hi!!!

I know I dont own a clio but I've always been impressed with the wealth of car related knowledge on the site...

Yesterday some muppet in a 4x4 whacked his door into the rear passenger door of my LCR. There seems to be a bit of play in the metal so the panel doesnt seem to double skinned but I can feel a bar about 1/3 of an inch behind the door skin which gives me the impression that they may struggle to reach the dent...

My question is whether you think the experts will be able to remove the dent ...I really dont fancy having it filled!

I'm hoping so! I could have killed the bloke who did it (its a neighbour)! I confronted him and he denied it (although he did admit to parking next to me at the time!).

I didnt think it was worthwhile punching him as he still wouldnt have admitted to it and he'd only call the police!!

I just dont see why I should have to pay £100 because someone can't be careful!

My best mate owns a FF 172 and tbh theres not much in it up to a ton. After that I pull on him but not as much as you'd expect.

IMO a clio sport cannot be beaten on price. They are a fantasic car out of the box and I have a lot of respect for them...

My car recorded 189bhp at the wheels and isnt modified...

Smart looking motor, prob the only modern 5 door I'd consider.

Should be an easy one to take out, the chaps usually have a wonder around the car to see if there are more dints he can take out or stone chips he can deal with then give you an 'all in' price, but in your case the thing looks so tidy he'll be hard pressed to find fault.

Im not sure about creases, but my mates dad has his own dent company, and I gotta say, that the dent looks like it'd only take a few mins for him to do. He's done much worse ones on mine, and in very awkward places, no problem at all. Even on my bonnet, near the latch, where i didnt think he'd get to, no problem. No drilling or anything!

Yes mate its a great car for the money...I bought mine last December for 13,200 with 9k on the clock. Just a shame that other people think its funny to bash

I'd defo consider a 182 though if I needed to consider freeing up some money!

Mines an 05reg mate. I wanted a black one too but this one came in with sat nav and was owned by an old man (I know this as I spoke to him on the phone) who never used it so traded it in.

Black is stunning but tough to clean. It also stands out so IMO much more desirable. A number have gone missing in and around Manchester where I live (mainly black).

The Dent people have just been round and unfortunately they can't fix the dent as they can't get to it (theres a metal bar just above which is stopping them from gaining access).

Not sure what to do now

Its booked in at a place called Dent Tec in Warrington tomorrow. I'm hoping they might be able to do something with it! They were talking about taking the door apart to get to it....Not sure whether it can be fixed though

Dont think so mate. In all honesty I wasn't that impressed with them. I've booked it in at a place in Warrington tomorrow for a second opinion. they work on mainly BMWs and JAGs so I'm hoping they can do something with mine. The guy I've been dealing with said that he may have to go in via the inside (which in guessing that will be big job). TBH as long as he can do it I'm not really bothered!

I'd hate to have to get it filled and resprayed!

if you want cut down the possible charges you could take the door card off before you go incase they need to go that way, some stingy ones could charge you take it off, but i'd have thought they'd have been to get it out. i'll need to get mine done, but i thing i'll treat my self after chrimbo and the insurance in Feb., there are soo many wee dings and they are groing in munber weekly if not daily, even thoguh i park no where near any one. it for 3 in the one go when a week ned about 3 foot tall (7 years old) riding a 26 inch bike fell agianst the side of my car, by the time I got out side he had scarpered, leaving a couple of dings and a slight wave in the panel, where his back hit the rear quarter the seat hit the rear and the handle bars got the door. i also have a sorta crease directly under my passenger wing mirror, f*ck knows how it for there or how the guy will get it out.

YAY the dent has now been removed!

Went to a place called DentTec in Warrington who sorted it out in minutes!

If anyone in the Northwest needs to get theirs sorted then I can't rate DentTec highly enough. In all honesty the guy (Dave) is a genious!

It definitely pays to take your car to a specialist

It wasn't too cheap (£95) but they did remove three dents on three different panels.

I guess you have to take into consideration that the guys that came out to do it on Monday couldnt so it goes to show that theres lots of people out there who "claim" to be experts...

When you say the cuprar website are you refering to SeatCupra.Net?

Are you suggesting that I'm unhelpful!?

Unfortunately SeatCupra.Net doesnt have the same amount of members as Cliosport so you sometimes find that people don't reply straight away. I would tar everyone with the same brush though by saying "what a bunch of muppets they were!"

Like all forums there are helpful and unhelpful people!

Thats quite reasonable for 3 dents to be removed!! Still looked teeny i couldnt see it onthe pic lol but i know what you're like with the car!! Will call you and let u know about next week im working till half midnight tonight!
