Dephasser pulley :(

I guess you hav all heard this before by know but I hav a tapping noise cuming from engine when it's warmed up and gos when you increase revs,sounds like a diesel!
i hav a clio 172 52 plate it's been making this noise for about too years now!
I would like to know if it is what I think it is??
I know it's a big job but is it worth it ??
Im getting the ecu remapped in too weeks do you think I should do this and forget about this noise??

Hi hammer over that amount of time the pulley will be shot.
Possibly a lack of power too.
Its not that big a job. Dephaser and cambelt kit etc.
How can you remap something with a lack of power.

Forget about the remap until you have the problem fixed.
There is absolutely no point having a sick engine remapped.

As above , get it running right mate before spending money on mods.

If you become a member you will be able to see all the Traders's sections on here and see which is the closest to sort your dephaser and cambelt kit for you.

They will be competitively priced and will use proper timing tools etc

As said I'd get the Dephaser changed before spending any money modifying it.

Hey ppl thanks for the welcome and your all making alot of sence! witch is what expected, to be honest it don't seam that slower at all really to me,but what do I know,I'm still finding my way about the site,so would welcome if someone could give me a link to a good specialist I'm in Spalding in Lincolnshire

Join properly and you'll find navigation much easier ;) (I made my £12 back in about 2 days)

You will get more gains from having a working dephaser than a remap anyway! So get that fixed :) By a specialist.
