Destiny

So Trials of the Nine is currently easy as piss šŸ˜§. Did my first run with my usual runners from D1 and we smashed a flawless on our first passage. Then me and 1 other did a double carry for 2 mates who had never been flawless. Someone please tell me it is going to get more competitive? I miss screaming and swearing when I can't get a flawless passge!

It was the same in D1 the first week of trials was so easy, I put it down to the fact new people are just willing to give a go even though they don't stand a chance. As a result the skill pool is very watered down and if you have a basic understanding and a little bit of skill it's that little bit easier.

Thing will return to the way they were before.

I've never been flawless and can't get anywhere in ToN. Getting wrecked by team shots. MIDA!!

Yes god knows how they come to the decision that the MIDA should be brought forward after its constant power all through D1!
My ToN experience hasn't been good, but I've never had the chance to play with a half decent team, LFG requirements already getting stupid.

You on PS4 @Jonesaaaay93?

Like @Gorms says, first few weeks is going to be the easiest because everyone is feeling the water, sadly I'm Xbox otherwise I'd offer to have a run with you sometime!

Sadly I know what you mean, luckily I play with a few players who are platinum elo and above (I'm near enough on par). So up until the year 3 meta of sidearms we would always manage a flawless run or two every week. Plan is to currently run as many of the none PvP guys we play with on a flawless run before things do go back to normal and it all gets a bit more 'try hard'.
I'm hoping that as crucible seems more balanced and with this MIDA teamfire attitude that seems to melt anyone who dares poke, that a few of the less skilled will hang around for a bit longer. By the end of year 3 the pool of trials players on xbox was so small it was disgusting.

Went flawless tonight, hit 305 as well.

Not much left to do now, but not complaining, it's my fault for rinsing the content dry in week 3, had some fun in the process.

15 - 20 mins. This weeks is the worst strike out of them all. The prestige version is bugged too so nobody can complete it.

You'll struggle at 230 in nightfall. We got to the boss with 12 minutes on the clock and killed him with 14 seconds left!

I did struggle from the start so gave it a miss for now! Up to 251 so grinding out lots of Heroic events and the lower strikes.

Played for 1 hour.
New game and doesn't really help me. I really don't think the game helps you or guides you on how to play it.

There is no grind.

I feel that 2 isn't going to have the longevity that 1 had. It's week 4 or something, and I already have no need to log in and play. There's no weapon rolls to chase, or leaderboards, or things to work towards, no exclusive s**t to earn. You hit 305, everyone can get the MIDA because it's an easy quest line, it's pretty easy to get a solid energy weapon like Uriel's Gift, and then you're sorted, game complete for all intensive purposes.

I got to like 270 something and didn't feel like progressing any further. Shame, D1 had me gripped for months to begin with!

Getting to 280 is taking agessss
It shouldn't do, compared to D1 this game is so easy to hit max light (305) I played solid the first week, then slowly drifted away (played about 2 hours last week) and I'm 305 on my main and nearly 300 on the second. (I haven't even done the raid yet... any of it :p)

Pop a fireteam medallion thing, just pump through public heroic events, get the milestones done every week and you'll be 305 in no time! :)

I've not done the raid, but I'm at 295 now.

Heroic events can be a pain to unlock sometimes, and if you're playing solo, I can seeing it taking a while.

agreed, on your own is a pain, but there is normally enough 'randies' running around that you can all team up, I don't run them on any planet except EDZ (and the one by the first spawn on Titan), 9/10 there is always other people running around doing the same thing.
What platform are you guys on?

Iā€™m 305 Titan, 304 warlock and 297 Hunter. Once youā€™ve got 300 on one character it makes levelling up others so much easier. As soon as they hit level 20 you can just put 300+ guns on them to rapidly shift their light level.

Planning to be online tonight for a session. Although I'm an old man now, so that will probably be till 11pm. šŸ˜‚

You about @Jonesaaaay93 ?
@MarcJP is hopefully about too
I should hopefully be about for some casual games (patrol/strike/crucible etc) would have to decline any raid invite as the boss (fiancƩe) will be hanging about. I will add you as well when I get home! (haven't really been on to do that yet). Will be 7ish onwards as I'm in work until 6!

Finally downloaded (pre-loaded) for the PC launch in a few days... looking forward to it.
As a PC player (and presumably a new player in the word of Destiny) I should imagine you will enjoy it!
My overall feelings on this game are simple:
The gameplay is a massive step up from Destiny 1. However, as far as the game itself goes, I find it to be a rather big disappointment. I was gripped for near enough 3 years on the original. Always keen to keep playing for hours on end. This in short. Has bored me. I played 'solid' for about 3 weeks. Reached max level (without playing the raid) and have not really touched it since, the odd hour each weekend that has followed. It quite simply doesn't have the same 'grind' aspect D1 had. Although I hope as it will all be new to you, you can enjoy it more than I! :)

Have to admit Iā€™m not hooked, like I was on Destiny 1. Although to be fair, I donā€™t have the time that I used to.

The game sucks balls compared to D1, try not to get your hopes up

Thanks for the heads-up. I did buy D1 on launch day but was one of the few that was plagued with LOADS of problems. Hence, it was some 5-6 weeks after launch until I was able to play my first hours with it. By that time I was miles behind my mates and couldn't be bothered playing catch-up. Hence, the game just collects dust and I didn't put much into it. Hopefully D2 will afford me a little more enjoyment simply due to the fact that I never 'got' D1 as I simply lost all enthusiasm for it after all the initial teething problems.

EDIT: Plus point... it was 'free' with my graphics card :)

Well having not played for a long time I managed to get on this week, done the raid a couple of times and played some pvp. If I'm being honest the PVE side of the game is vastly improved but PVP has been destroyed. They have removed any aspect of being good, its all just so boring. Before you could carry a whole team if you had some skill but now its just overly balanced.

  White APE
Theyā€™ve made it fair to much for the more casual gamer and taken away everything that the more hardcore players grind for.

The biggest criticism I can give it is that I've not played it at all in about 3 weeks now, and there's no incentive to get me playing again, which I never felt like with D1.

Not even logging in for weeklies already, what's the point? Power level and gear doesn't matter in any area of the game.

I'm really disappointed, because I expected this to be the game I hung to for the next few months if not years, but now I'm already on the hunt for something else to take its place.

For those looking to play on PC (anyone other than myself?!) - Bungie have released a list of known issues that may affect the Day 1 release for PC players!

Day 1 PC Known Issues List

Listed below are issues that Bungie are aware of that exist in Destiny 2 on PC.

  • SLI, HDR, and VSYNC: Players may experience some rare issues when enabling SLI, HDR, or disabling VSYNC in some non-native resolutions. For the best experience, players are encouraged to use these features while running at their displayā€™s maximum available resolution.
  • Saxophone Errors when Launching: Players may erroneously encounter Saxophone errors when launching the Destiny 2 application directly from the .exe file. Players who encounter this issue must close the application and relaunch through Blizzardā€™s Battle.net app.
  • Idling to Title Screen: In some activities, players who are returned to the title screen due to idling may be unable to log back in. Players who encounter this issue must close and relaunch the Destiny 2 application.
  • Login after Disconnects: A generic error code may appear to players who lose internet connection, which may block an affected player from logging back in even after reconnecting. Players who believe they are encountering this issue should close the Destiny 2 application and relaunch.
  • Buffalo Errors on multiple PCs: Players may encounter Buffalo errors when logging in to Destiny 2 on multiple PCs at the same time. To prevent this issue, players must ensure that they are logged out of Destiny 2 on any PC that they do not currently intend to play on.
  • Cursor in Tri-Monitor Configurations: Changing resolution between 5760x1080, 4080x768, and 3072x768 may trap the mouse cursor in the right-most monitor. Players who encounter this issue should ALT+TAB out of the Destiny 2 application, then back. Players may also toggle Windowed Mode by pressing ALT+ENTER.
  • Tri-Monitor Depth of Field: DOF effects may be overly aggressive on some tri-monitor configurations. Players who encounter issues with DOF can disable this feature in the Graphics Settings.
  • Windows 10 Game Bar: The Windows 10 game bar may not work in Fullscreen Mode. Affected players who wish to use this feature should use Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen Mode.
  • NumPad Binding: Players are not able to bind controls to most NumPad keys.
  • Screen Bounds on AZERTY Keyboards: Players may receive an incorrect key prompt when adjusting screen bounds on an AZERTY keyboard.
  • IME in Fullscreen: Players who are running Input Method Editors may encounter a black screen or delay when inputting characters in Fullscreen Mode. For the best experience, these players are encouraged to play in Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen Modes.
  • Closing Application: When closing Destiny 2 on PC, players must close the application via mouse input. Controllers cannot select the in-game button to close the Destiny 2 application.
  • Corporate and University Networks: Some players may be unable to play Destiny 2 on corporate or university networks. Players who encounter this issue must contact their IT department, to meet the connectivity standards outlined in our Network Troubleshooting Guide.

My PS4 clan is rubbish. Only 4 of us and only 2 active. We get our Clan XP but still at level 1!!! Not hardcore players, but we have no chance in nightfall or raids.

We donā€™t want a serious we must be online and a certain time blah blah blah clan. But it would be nice to be with people who actually play and can help out with nightfall and a raid!!

I hope you are making that coment from a PC and not an Xbox!!!

Anyway - in a decent clan now and admin. Nightfall done and going to try raid on reset. Trials of the Nine is back on Friday! Sweeeeeeet!

Been stuck at 297 for a couple of days now. Will hopefully get higher after weekly reset and raid.
