An old Honda badge has fallen off my car.

I've ordered a new one but what should I use to prep the paint before sticking down the new badge?

The car was washed, clayed , rejuvenated and waxed (Desire) a week ago.

Got any kind of panel wipe or IPA? You need to ensure it goes onto bare paint so removing any pre wax cleaner and wax is a must for it to stay

Using one of the coatings to seal wheels really does make it so so simple in keeping them clean. I'll only use this on wheels now as I see little point in going through the whole decon prep process every few months.

Don't think so fella, I'll have a look in the garage tomorrow.

Any recommendations?

AF Finale 5 liters - Correct me if I'm wrong but this comes already diluted? It's not noted on the packaging and I've always watered down my Meg's Last Touch.

Apologies for the retarded question.

Just read your other post.

You ou can still have some IPA if you want lol

Cheers fella, very kind.

I'll give you a shout if I need it.

Do you know the answer to my Finale query?

I doubt it! It's just bulk for heavy users. Could always give them a ring though!

Good call.

Just rang and its already diluted. They did say it could be diluted further (1:1) but for optimum results use neat.

I've not been into detailing for 4-5 years now, any recommendations on wax to use for dark metallic blue and a budget of £50. Looking for medium durability so maximum gloss and wet look ideally. The car has already been polished when I bought it but not heavily sealed with a gloss finish, not compared to my old days of SRP and then several layers of EGP :) Just looking to top up what is existing and then worry about a winter wax in a few months.

Thanks :)

I have 3 large pots in my fridge. Had another Ezyme sample in there for 2 years.

I couldn't get on with application, but looked lovely once finished

ended up stripping it back so I had an excuse to use Glasur again

Lols. They're funny waxes. I loved Primo. Looked so oily!

I got a technique going in the end:
Heat the pot up on a 400W lamp,
Apply in circular, then vertical and horizontal lines because It doesn't like to spread very well,
Buff off with a sacrificial wax cloth,
Buff again with Z6- 2 cloth method.

It doesn't really 'cure' like a normal wax. Swipe test just smudges the wax around! That's why one buffing cloth is not enough, it gets full of uncured unbuffable waxy stubstance.

However, initial impression make me think it might be worth the bother, the depth and reflective nature are immediately apparent! (I assume that's the style? I haven't looked it up)
I'll give it another Z6 wipe down in the morning just Incase.

Any idea on durability?

Is anyone that is really into detailing fairly local to me? Would like to give mine a really good polish and wax but I don't have a da machine or similar. Would love to bring it to someone and help so I can get an idea of what I need and the techniques. Obviously will pay for time taken

I'm sure there as closer members to you but you're less than an hour from me last time I travelled that way.

Depending on what you're looking to achieve I don't mind lending a hand, but don't really offer machine polishing other than on my own cars

a quick hand polish :p / cleanse and wax after a full decon can be done pretty quickly on a Clio, especially with 2 people. Can show you what to do in future and what type of products are useful.

Any recommendations for a new car detail, either a company fairly local to Sheffield or some products for me to use and do it myself? Fiesta Panther Black paint.

I'd be very tempted to give Yellow Dave a bell. He knows his stuff!
