Recently bought a silver 55 plate full fat 182
68k miles
Service history
Retrimmed steering wheel

Belts and dephraser etc done last year along with new alternator and major major service
Recent goodyear tyres x4
Totally standard except miltek resonated system

Preety much spotless throughout

Paid £2,700 for it
Sound about right?

I'd say the price you paid (if the answer to the above question is not the latter) was ok.

You can get you car mot'd almost a month before its due to keep you expiry date the same as long as its after a certain date.

Thought id paid slightly over odds looking at some others for sale although the prices seem all over the place!

Loving the little 182 though, owned a early 172 a few years ago, much prefer the 182 though
Also owned numerous other cars over the years including mk5 golf Gti's, mk1 focus Rs, ep3 type R, escort Rs turbo's etc etc
Went for the little 182 as now have a2 year old daughter and we have a golf Gtd for family car so fancied something cheap but fun for running to work etc and the 182 seems to fit that bill perfectly

You can get you car mot'd almost a month before its due to keep you expiry date the same as long as its after a certain date.

1 month before. I always have 13 months MOT each year when i get it done.

@matthewsimone they are all over the place because of what people do to them.
Cambelt job is circa £600, then you have the ones that have been abused. Some are well look after and some are mint.
I see them priced from £500-£3500. Is just one of them cars I guess.

You could have a £1500 example and a £3000 example next to each other.

The £3000 example could be a better buy due to conprehensive service history and the correct jobs being carried out recently.

Or the £1500 car could be a corker, and 'under priced' next to a low mileage £3k 'shitter' priced by someone who thinks its a 3k car purely because the speedo reads a low number, yet owned by 15 paupers on a shoe string.

Effectively price doesn't necessarily make the deal or good or bad one.

It sounds like you've got something which has been looked after, which is the main thing.
