i always hear plenty people saying theres no difference in the real world between the 2 but ive got to say id have to disagree.
but ive driven MY 172 with both the standard 172 manifold and then the 182 manifold on it and it made a BIG difference especially
That wasn't actually what the OP was asking .He wanted a comparison between a standard 172 and 182 , not one with any mods :quiet:
i've heard that Renault developed the 182 specifically for the female driver, who couldn't handle the pace of the past 172 ph1, ph2 and cup models.

Neither do most 172s.Most 182's don't make their power. No difference in performance.
