difference engine wise between 172 and 182

sorry if this has already been asked before but what makes the 182 more powerful than the 172?

The differences are a 4-2-1 manifold on the 182, where as the 172 has a 4-1 i think. Also, the catalyst is more of a sportscat and free-er flowing.

As far as i know its a fact... has less cells. Not 100 % though so could be wrong.

I gotta be honest I think decatting 172 cups have a nicer, more throaty roar than my rather raspy 182.

The 182 has a different engine code it is a slightly different engine but nothing serious just changed production parts can be swopped.

The power came from the 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and sportier can and exhuats system with a remap to suit.
