in the real world what is the difference between 1/2 meg bband?

i cant get 8 meg, so its achoice between 1 or 2. Is there is massive difference, ie is it actually twice as fast?

i plan to play online games, download movies/music.

from always having a 56K dial up i really know nothing about bband!

depends how many movies u plan on downloading and how inpatient u are on getting em

you dont notice the difference that mush with web browsing, its more noticable when your downloading or playing games when the connection can get a chance to build up and peak, downloading a web page will use very little of 2mb but it is certainly noticable when you download a song at 200+kbps instead of 100+kbps or 50+kbps. so depending on what you use it for it's your choice, most companies are offer to go 2mb for as little as £1 extra anyway.
