different aerial for 172

I park my 172 in my garage every evening but ive got a problem. Due to the aerial being a 40 cm bee sting type , it catches on the garage door when i open/close it.The garage is a swings up and over type. the aerial gets pushed towards the mount and flexes it.

I was wondering if its possible to shorten the aerial or get a different one. I wouldnt mind one that looks like the new BMW middle fin design.

I listen to the radio everywhere I go so I must still have good reception.



Oh, and does anyone have any ideas as to what i could use to to stop the car driving too far into the garage, should i screw some chocks into the floor or something.

Stick some wood to the floor to stop your bad parking wrecking the front of your clio!

Thanks, looks like I will get a CTR one. How do you go about replacing it? Is there a nut under the roof paneling that releases the aerial. also have you got any tips on making the replacement 100% waterproof so i dont get leaks.

You just unscrew the aerial from the base and screw the new one on. 30 seconds tops.

i gor mine from honda for £19.05 incl vat

if u didnr wanna pay that try ebay or just nick one

Agle grinder, just take a square out the roof, weld in a new panel, new aerial base and bobs your mothers brother

Or if it really is jammed then get a new base from a breakers, you just need to take the overhead light out and get a ratchet onto it.

BTW dont think that i can get that 15mm for you, sorry dog
