Do de cats really enhance performance ?

My opinion ..... Pointless on a phase 1 172 it gave mine s**te flat spots all over the place, was an arse ache to change and a pain to get insured. Better still car now pulls stronger with cat back on.

Gonna have to disagree with that... you may have had some other issue?

I fitted a yozza decat to my old ph1 and it massively improved driveability and noise, but not power.

IMO the decat just sharpens up the throttle response and a little bit more free reving. Wouldn't say that it really gives a noticeable power increase
