Do i need spring compressors for new springs

You will need them.

Sportlines can be done without compressors. Anything which lowers less than the 45mm they do it's a very tough/impossible task.

My eibach prokit needed compressors.

They're about £6 from ebay! Just buy some. I've used mine loads now I've got them

I've fitted standard shocks to standard springs easy without them on my 172 and 182.

Nope. Standard springs onto standard shocks don't need compressors on 172/182s. From personal experience and as stated above.

I've done countless shocks and springs on 172/182's and can confirm, 100%, you don't need compressors .

Yeah Graham, I have to disagree with you!

I've fitted standard shocks, Prolines, Sportlines, Cooksports, Apex and Koni springs without compressors.

I must be doing something wrong! Maybe just terrified after the dci strut went off like a bomb once! KABOOM and top mount lost forever

I've just fitted cooksports to cup shocks, as above - not needed.
I did have a 1.2 spring slip and go off between my legs when the clamps slipped, caused my knee to bounce off the concrete. Very lucky not to lose my leg that day.

My local halfords will also fit them for £5 if it's quiet in the workshop.

Shocks came today, not going to lie it's probably the easiest thing to do on these cars, just need to order some bumps tops now :)
