Do These Spark Plugs Really Look 11Months Old (6000miled old)

Hi, well my cars been misfiring for a few weeks, finally got round to investigating the problem 2day....pulled spark plug no.1 out and the problem seemed pretty self explanatory. (see attached image)

The more i see of this car the more i wonder about its previous service history, i bought the car last oct at 37k, it was supposidly serviced in june at 35k...although im not too sure it was serviced...wondering if the book was stamped courtesy of a fiver slipping accross the service desk.

The air filter also needs changing aswell i noticed but was unable to get hold of that today..also considering getting a new filter that will produce a bit more noise. The oil is also getting quite dark in colour so that needs a change soon as well.

I also had to fit new brake pads and shoes at 40k...all of which should have been done at the last service?

So anyway back to the point....anybody else car to hazard a guess at the age of the old spark plugs?

cant tell anything from those pics, you will need a HIGH resolution pic of the ceramic/electrode/groundstrap.......i.e all the bits at the end of the threaded section, ignore the other parts.

cheers mate, ahh well they caused me major misfire...but at least the problem is solved now and for next to nothin

£4 for 1/4 inch extender bar
£4 for 14mm 1/4 inch socket

edit - thats just one plug...only takes 1 of the other plugs to be shagged and id be on 3 cylinders causing me probs but no point in changing just one for the price of a plug may as wel get all 4 done
