does a 182 have stainless sill protectors

Ive got a mk1 172 which has these crappy plastic sill protectors.

I decided to give my renault garage a call to see if they had any stainless ones - the guy said he couldnt tell me unless i had a registration number of another car so he could check! like whats all that about..... surely theres a way of checking....

anyways can someone help me out so i can try and get some...
