Dog Leg mount worn K-tec OR Renault?

  Monaco 172 (02)
I have a lot of engine movement that can be seen through the gearstick shifting around under revs! Clio 172 1*2

I have been told that its the Dogleg mount (common problem) Renault are charging £40 for the part, K-Tec £50 for an uprated one. With standard bushes all round will the K-Tec over stress the originals, and whats the real advantage of the K-Tec?!

I know the dogleg issue has been dicussed many times but I was hoping to fit it sat along with a few other parts, for a run through Wales Sunday and K-Tec wont get here by then. Is it worth the wait?!

Renault personally, not a great fan of these uprated engine mounts. Can't help but think the oem items are soft for a reason, and the cabin vibration drives me up the wall in an everyday car.

Think I'll go with the Renault. I dont want to be rattling away, just thought it may have tightened the shift up?!

Personally id go powerflex, ive had one in the past and the vibration is annoying but not as annoying as the constant banging on the subframe with the standard mounts.

I had a new standard Renault dogbone 6 months ago and its already gone again.

Well the current one has a split in it.
Going to try the Renault one and then take it from there. If it fails in a few months then I'll opt for the Kam Racing

Personally I think the standard 172 mounts are more than good enough tbh, and afaik my 53 plate still had the original set in and it was fine.

Piece of pie to replace, have a look under the car to the rear of the engine and you'll see.

Piece of cake to change.

I'd recommend the PowerFlex bushes - it really has tightened up the gear change a lot. I've not really noticed any increase in vibration or cabin noise as a result of the change either.
