Donnington Picture Thread ... Mine 1st ;O)

Thanks to Focused Events as per usual ...

New suspension setup on the Trophy is fantastic, maybe not in the wet mind you, but when it dried out; lift, turn in, foot down, grin. Everytime. Great fun!!

No where near fast enough, but simply means i can drive flat out everywhere, which is always nice. I remember Dave. mentioning that he was concerned about going flat out in 3rd through Craner curves (cams/itb's, ie power!), whereas i was pinned in 4th lol ...

Lack of power FTW ;)

Overall, very pleased, shame that a nasty whirring from the alternator area meant that i had to finish at 4 instead of 5pm though :dapprove:

Still, not that bad, it did tick over to 174k in the afternoon ;)

Looking good Dave, a shame about the alternator!

This is what I love about you Dave (other than your face ;))Not obsessed with power, just extra conscious about the setup. I do love that car for that!

Awesome pics.

As said, there's an alternator in the shed if needed.

Power is nothing without control ;)

As always though, i'd much rather have fun than be the fastest person out there, ill leave the racing & lap times to the professionals, oh & you/Tom if the race car ever gets finished ...

But yes, as a few have mentioned, it looks/goes ok for such a miley beast, although i have now scratched FailSport into the paint on the boot  Drawing on dirt FTL.

Inevitable but certainly amusing!

I like how you initially drew on it and then touched it up later when the car got more dirty. Commitment to the cause and attention to detail in play right there. :)

Nice pics. Good effort on the having fun/not chasing seconds !

174,000 miles ? Is this suffering big time from Trigger's Broom Syndrome by now ?

Not really, original engine, 'box & clutch still going strong!

Have all the (Renault) receipts from new and the only major bits that have been replaced were the rear dampers at 168k and the fronts (refurbed) at 170k. Everything else is just wear & tear items, so tyres, discs/pads, etc ...

I certainly havent replaced any bushes, etc so they will all be originals as well!

The car is proof that with correct maintenance, a car will last & last :)

Great pics. Loving the second to last one.

This one is pretty epic also. :)

Cheers :)

Nice pictures Tim!!

Was very impressed with the speed of that thing tbh

I was quite happy with how it held it's own against a lot of quick cars :D

It's running 10bhp and 20lbs/ft down from when originally mapped by RS Tuning so still has more potential to untap

Hoping to change the standard pads and have some better fluid in for next trackday as well.
