Door speakers 1.9d 1997 clio

Now, I know this is not a Clio Sport, I can't get insured on a Clio sport yet, as much as i'd like one. Thats the restrictions of being 18 and not with 3years no claims I guess..

Now my question is this,

In the 1997 1.9d 4dr - there is no front door speaker pods, there is just the dash (assuming 4") speakers?

Problem is, 4" speakers generally are not that good... and cost a lot more for the power handling of say a cheaper 6.5" component kit.

I'm looking at components, either RE xxx6.5" or, Focals/Rainbow's, etc... something quality... driven by a 284w RMS amplifier x2 at 4Ohm. Obviously being careful with gain I could use almost any watt speaker I want. However, I'm looking for something decent, but with some power there to handle say 100watts-150watts RMS.

I need 6.5" or 5.25" door speakers, but how the hell do I get these to fit?

SQplus said they could sort me out, but would be expensive wouldn't it?

Door cards match interior so it's a pain to get the door speaker ones from a 1998 model say. but, can the pods be swapped or the front caddys adapted fro 5.25?

Any ideas?

Im not sure what your on about really but my understanding is this:

You want decent components for front of car (door speakers!)

Ok, you can get renault speaker surrounds which are fitted to some models of clio (you just need to take the door cards off and there is the outline on the back for where to cut)(also there is the space behind in the metal work of the door for 13cm speakers) Ive got a set of speaker surrounds you could have!?

As for speakers I would only go on what friends have as my cars stripped! Alpine seem to be the best! sony are good but not as good. If you want to spend even more money go for mtx or audiobahn as are really unbeatable in my opinion.

The speakers are in dash and there are no door speakers.

You may be correct, door card cut and place a surround. Is it easy to cut straight?

Yeah, I'd be interested, or at least interested where you can buy them?
