double sided tape behind numberplate - removal?

What do you guys use to help remove the double sided tape from the back of numberplates?

My rear numberplate keeps coming away at one side no matter how many times I put new tape behind it so I may have to take the whole numberplate off to make sure it sticks down next time.

Hairdryer then clean up any residue with WD40 .

Yeah, hairdryer off and white spirit for anything left behind.

tar remover works a treat mate, I just removed stickers from a friends car yesterday with it, just polish up the part of the car after u useit

AG Tar and Adhesive remover here to.

Clean the area after with the alcohol wipes to get them to stick proper.
