It's already been driven home a couple of miles with the rac following me. Is it worth getting it towed to freds then?Do not drive it. Don't even start it.

If tut' aux belt gets wrapped around tut' cambelt you'll regret it!
Full aux kit?Cheers guys I'll look into getting it recovered, the belts were only done 10k ago which is annoying!

It was done at NW Performance so you never know! The invoice shows cambelt and aux belt change so I imagine it's a faulty tensioner that's caused the belt to die.
The belts aren't due, they were done over a year ago. The previous owner had the work done at NW as they lived in Manchester. To be honest i wouldnt be driving it if the belts were due never mind damaged, you've been lucky. Dont tempt fate...!
The most direct route is down a bypass so I don't think pc plod would like that! If I was to go the non bypass route it's easily another 10 miles on the journey. Why not just take the offending belt off and get towed there
I'd also be asking NWP if they have anything to say about the fact your belt has chewed itself up after 10k miles...
Do you think they'll be that bothered? Surely they'll just make out it could be down to another fault causing the belt to fray? I'm pretty disappointed but I'm just glad it didn't take the cambelt out!So would I NWP strike again !!!!
Thats all fine and well but what has caused it to fray in the first place??Why not just fit a new aux belt yourself, its not hard
Thanks but I'm not that clued up on the Clio yet to be taking bits off! If it comes down to it Fred can tow my car to the garage as it's not that farIf it helps i've got loads of old but functional items that you can have to fit yourself and then get you to Freds? I'd be more worried about exactly what caused it to fray in the first place mind.
Mick
I'd give them a call before bad mouthing or anything of the sort on here, and ask them politely if they have a suggestion for a resolution.
Go on ebay and type in vehicle recovery.
The guy we use charges £1 per mile.
