duel voice coil sub.

  silver valver/hybrid

right at the mo ive got 2 x 12" subs but i want to save weight so im thinking of getting a duel voice coill one. i have a mono block amp with one output so i presume i wire the + of the amp to + on one coil, the - of the amp to the - of the other coil then link the remaining + and - together? is this correct?

no if you have a mono amp link the + and - on th sub together. ie the +to the + and the - to the - then connect the amp to one of the the sides like normal

ok, just wanna know on the alpine SWR1021D, its dual voice coil 2 ohms. does that mean 4 ohms altogether when using a mono amp??? Please help, im so confused!

right i got single 10" alpine type r. if u are only going to run 1 then you want the SWR1041D. this when wired correctly will run at 2ohms which is what u will prob want from a mono block amp. Ive got an alpine mrd-m300 and this is how i got it.

in the sub there will be intructions on how to wire the sub at 2 and 4 ohms.

You would want SW1021D if you were going to run 2 off one amp.

hope this helps, did a lot of reading to get this sorted in my head b4 buying my stuff.

try http://www.alphacaraudio.comwww.alphacaraudio.com if u want a 10" alpine type r. they well them for £75 plus £15 p&p i think. v gd price.
