DVD Head Unit Ph 1 172

Can anyone help? im after a decent CD/DVD head unit to replace the original one in my 172 but would like to retain the 6 disc changer under the seat and the satellite controls on the steering wheel if poss along with the display on the dash (dont want much lol!!) anyone any ideas of a particular unit that will do this? Im aware of car audio direct etc just looking for a specific head unit that will meet the criteria..........cheers all

dont think you'll get the changer to work mate, but the rest should be easy enough.

Dont need a changer anyway, you can fit many more mp3s onto a cd/dvd than the 6disc changer can.

Yeah it was spot on. That is the Pioneer AVH6500 the avic x1r alss has sat nav built in and looks slightly different.
I have only 2 minor niggles with it

1. The menus are not great (i.e. they way in with they navigate, the programming is poor).
However they dont make the avh6500 anymore and it is much better on the avic x1r and if you don't want the sat nav the Avh6600.

2. You pay nearly £1000 for a head unit and pioneer are to tight to include a case for the face plate.

yikes, pricey but i am looking for one at the mo and may buy this as it looks excellent, picture quality good 2?

Yeah the picture and sound was great.

The Avic Xr1 is great but i didnt really need the sat nav so went for the Avh.

Take a look at the Avh6600 is the new version of the 6500 but with updated menus/software. Id recommend it.

Speak with Zorba the Greek he had one to.
