Dynamique wheels Vs 172 wheels

  H22A7 Accord Type R

OK...........really tempted to get a set of nice 172 Mk2 wheels for my car......BUT.........how much heavier are they than my std 15"s??? I dont want to mess up the limited performance you see. At the moment, i have 195/50 Toyo proxies on my dynamique alloys, so 195/45s wont make too much difference, just the extra weight of the wheel.

So basically, whats peoples opinions on this, and how much do u reccon i could get a MINT (got to be mint as my wheels aint kerbed or anything so not gonna replace them with marked wheels) set of Mk2 172 wheels for? Just an idea......come tomorrow ill probably go back to sticking with my 15s lol

Rob

doubt its really gonna effect performance that much.

I reckon you should get some 17s though, you should try look a wee bit different eh:)

most folk wont even notice you have the 172 wheels, will just think they are standard.

Oh garage just phoned, moff to get my car...welcome to 60mm lowervile:)

I reckon it wont make much difference.. (to your performance)

If you are wanting to go for a 172 lookalike then get the mint set of 172 alloys.. but if you are just looking to update the style of your alloys you would be a lot better off getting an aftermarket set.

aye but John, i go for the subtle touch, anyone in the know how would notice.......and ill give ya race wi my 15"s vs your 17s if ur getttin them hehe! Personally, i think in-houst styling works quite well sometimes. really like TSW Reflex tho......... hmmmmmmm

i guess KDF, but it would be quite easy to get a set of 172 wheels from someone on here, thats why i consider it, Rob

good man, i aint much of a racing dude either, rather just please myself lol! I can tell your a looks man.............40mm not good enough eh!! lol!!! might see ya when im up in whitburn next month! Rob

ek whitburn, could go for a jar and a scar eh (pinto) hehe:)

i could race all the time if i wanted, just cause my car is modified every ned in livi tries it on. Thats when im glad my wee 1.2 has a fair bit of power, and with the cheeky induction kit it sounds quite good!

However most time i just ignore the bams!

aye likewise down in Huddersfield!!!!! and i know what Livi area is like lol! u ever go down bathgate??? hopefully see ya about when im up! what induction kit u got? i have a jextex panel filter, but my new K-tec exhaust makes up for the lack of noise it makes ;)

get some pics mate..........the back end, it looks like the coils touch eachother from what ive seen......hows the ride quality????? prob need to settle a bit

Got some mk2 172 wheels on my dynamique. You need spacers on the back to stop them rubbing on the inner arch. Performance isnt effected that much. Handles much better.

  H22A7 Accord Type R

wouldnt think i would need spacers.........and spacers (from what ive heard through growing up) mess up the handling, so i kinda see what your saying Rob

Trust me you do. At least 3mm. remember the 172 track is 27mm wider at the front and 17mm wider at the back.

looks ace rob, will get photos once it beds in a bit.

the handling is so much better than the 40mm apex, handles like its on rails.

think ill need my tracking sorted though
