E-Tech Ali Spoiler Fixing

Was thinking of getting the above, it fixes on by a clip which hooks onto the inside egde of the boot lid, it then has two holes for fixing to the boot lid. The first thing that comes to mind to fix it is bolting it, and then you realise that you have to drill the hole for the bolt and then cut a hole largenough for the socket on the inside edge of the boot lid. I suddenly came up wiht the idea of pop-riviting it, this makes the job instantly quicker and means less cutting inot the car body.

Would pop-rivets be strong enough dbearing in mind that the one end of the leg is clipped to the boot lid, of should i stick wiht bolts and washers?

Well ive seen one of another white clio, and i think it looked the dogs bollox, but at the end of the day it all comes down to personal taste.

  Mk2 Golf GTI

do the simple things first like colour coding and lowering. ali spoilers are pointless on anything less than a touring car IMO. Ask for a few more opinions

yea theres a white mk1 clio in my area that drives round with one and has had it on for a long time before he done many more modifications and tbh it looked sh*t at 1st but now hes done everything else it does looks the mutts nuts imo.

So the general consensus is that i should get it lowered, and get lexus lights, and maybe a body kit before i fit the alloy spoiler?

definately, i think most ppl r agreed that lexus lights look pukka, try get the new smoked ones from k-tec they look smart, go for simple mods, IMO clios look better without a bodykit and if theyre lowered right down on the arse end with smaller wheels like 15s or 16s if you go for a bodykit with wheels smaller than 17s they look puny. have you colour coded your bumpers??

nope, my m8 got the terminator kit, i think mk1 clios look ok wiht bodykits on, the only prob is lowering the arse end if u dont upgrade the dampers u cant take much weight, e.g. m8s

yeah thats a gd point, i think if you colour coded your bumpers you would see a massive change staight away.

i have looked around loads for a decent bodykit for a mk1 clio and the best one ive seen is a wide bodykit, cant remember who made it but the rest you see advertised dont look to great IMO.

what youve gotta remember with bodykits is that it will cost a fair amount to buy 1st of all, then more to fit and spray, then some big rims for it too look gd, roll your arches for the bigger rims2 fit, its a lot of expense whereas in comparison an adjustment of your torsion bar and a set of uprated dampeners arent going to break the bank!

does look ok yeah, the single wiper conversion really looks nice.

tbh i dont think it would look a lot different without the bodykit and colour coded bumpers perhaps smaller wheels, just because you may have the wedge to buy it dont buy unneccesarily, some of the nicest clios ive seen are very simple, u only have to look at how nice slightly modded valvers look.

but thats just my opinion. look at zeds clio for sale at the moment if im right that hasnt got a bodykit and it does look very tidy im sure lots will agree...

Yeah thast where i got the above pic

I tend to like bodykits liek the above, not over the top, but with the bottem bit of the bumper sticking out, got my eye on a PSG.

By the time i have the money to get it ill prolly end up gettign sommet completely different

That clio stays not far from my folks house and tbh it looks w4nk in real life with all that sh*t bolted to it. If you really want to upgrade the styling keep it subtle (ie parts from a higher model) because unless youve got the cash to do it properly in one go, it just ends up looking bad.

Just my opinion but im sure a lot of people like me have been there and done the alloy spoiler thing and wouldnt again - very few cars can pull them and im not sure clios are among them.....

Quite like the Alien one wiht brake lights and indicators, only prob is thats £211 (£100 more than i was orignally intending to pay), and the fitting aint as easy.

Something to consider
