Sick of my feet slipping on the pedals when wet i have stuck some industrial grip tape of the pedals, cost £3.50 for a meter of the stuff from eBay,
also managed to get the wheel fitted:smile:,
I took the car for a quick blast and a biker on an R6 wanted to play so I obliged, He probably feels a bit stupid now.:stig:

I have one exactly the same from Jack and it feels sublime, much better than anything else in my opinion.

The shiny bits fairy has been this week and dropped these off,
the cams are 438 to help the turkish inlet (hopefully here this week) produce more ponies,
arp rod bolts as the engine should still be producing power around 7500 rpm
RC5+ pads for slowing it all back down
And I went to pick up my set of roll centre correction hubs from @NorthloopCup , to eerrrr correct the roll centres

Having a bit of a getaway with friends and family for the last couple of weeks with a drive to the French Riviera , so far We've travelled from
Leeds to Portsmouth for a ferry Across to Caen then the 220 miles south to Clos de la Ribaudiere
With a quick stop at Hotel de France
(Famous for Le Mans teams)

Hotel Ribaudiere

Next day I stopped in lanzac, mid France near rocamadour
image.jpeg

Then a quick fill up before the Milau viaduct

image.jpeg

Can't remember the name of the next nights chateau but it was in serious hillbilly land

image.jpeg

The next day was the final drive down onto the south coast, Mrs bash thought it would be a laugh to do a bit of drifting in the mountains above Cannes I disagreed very manly with a high pitched squeal
image.jpeg

So into Nice for the weekend and the Monaco historic Gp

Today,
From Vielha to Pamplona
Just 5 minutes from the Hotel was an amazing 5km long tunnel that looked like something from the movie Tron
IMG_1147.JPG

Through some beautiful flowing roads with the backdrops that you can imagine something like star wars wouldn't look out of place being filmed,
Unfortunately Just after this the Aston decided to s**t its clutch master cylinder seals, which resulted in some brave driving for the Father in Law having to do clutchless changes whilst speed matching gears through the tighter mountain passes (proper hero style).

When the roads opened up again we were high,
really f**king high, drug addict in Amsterdam kind of high

Anyway hers a few more of todays awesome scenery

And tonights Digs on top of hillside over looking Pamplona, It's all a bit much for a Village Lad from Yorkshire.
Tomorrow is the drive to Bilbao for the Boat back to Blighty:up:

The Engine is out for some fettling,
Fitted the ARP rod bolts
Also port matched the head to the SM intake Manifold as you can see in the first photo the lower edge is well matched but the upper and sides need a couple of mm of blending for good airflow, I would say these lips will sap 5-10hp if not blended in.

Yey it's running,
New Cams should always have a run in period which involves keeping the revs around 2000-3000 for 20 minutes as the loading on the lobes is much higher at idle revs and can cause premature wear of the case hardening of the metal, as you can see in the photo above I coated the cams and journals with Torco assembly lube to give them the best chance possible for a proper bedding in period.

The new breather set up
View attachment 157731
Hi,
I love the connectors and hoses for the breather set up. Is there any chance you still have a list of what you ordered to make that. I have the same oil cooler and SM inlet and havent got round to ordering the connectors and hoses yet.

Also for the SM inlet ASH sell a really good 15 degree silicone 70mm id hose for the filter , you may need to cut a little of the old bracket it fouls on the car. Only thing is they only sell them in blue. Im still trying find a supplier that sells black ones. Its pretty much perfect though.

Cheers matey, it's mapped now, gained a few ponies but torque isn't where I want it so I'll have a play with cam timing and possibly look at the pure motorsport 45mm bodies,
on another note, new road wheels are on

I was on the reserve list with the Micra for saturday.
If you have any tips for how to get around farmhouse fast it would be very welcome, it's one I've always struggled with.

On the fastest time I've ever done at Harewood I was on the grass on the outside on the exit of Farmhouse....

I'm going to try trail braking into farmhouse in 3rd gear instead of dropping it into 2nd before the corner

If you want to see how it's done in a FWD car check out Deryk Jones 65.25 run up Harewood in his 205 GTi it's bloody staggering!
